Arriva Traincare

Purpose of the Repaint
To repaint 6 off centre cars to match 12 driving motor cars to make the 2 car sets in to 3 cars sets for Cros Country Trains. As a preferred supplier to ATC working at their overhaul facility @ Days Road Bristol. Once the centre had been refreshed inside by painting, then adding new floor coverings and upgraded toilet facilities, the 3 cars were then formed with SCC polishing the exterior of the driving motor cars to match the new condition of the centre car.
Scope of work
Working on the late shift, SCC would prepare and paint all internal surfaces from the curved ceiling panel down floor level, all vestibules and the toilet would receive a refresh including all grab rails and poles. Grab rails and poles would be sent away for stripping and re powder coating.
At the same time the exterior corrosion would be addressed using a market leading corrosion inhibitor, that guarantees corrosion protection for at least 10 years. The whole vehicle would be primed, flatted and finished in multiple colours using Axalta Hydro Topcoat. Once finished and snagged all external/internal labels would be fitted including TOC branding where required. SCC procured all branding and labelling using our preferred supplier
Result
Although the centre car had brand new livery applied, the driving motor vehicles also looked like new thanks to the heavy clean and polish. Overall Arriva TrainCare plus their customer Cross Country Trains were very impressed
